The classic Viking service call. On gas ranges the bake igniter weakens with age: it still glows orange, but no longer draws enough current to open the gas safety valve — so the oven never lights, or takes 15+ minutes to reach temperature. Owners often assume it's the thermostat; nine times out of ten it's the igniter, a same-visit repair with parts we stock.
